$215,000 for Camp Quest

The top bid for the Camp Quest property of about 19 acres sold by Brock Auction Company of Le Mars was 215-thousand dollars.

Alumni informally started taking pledges to buy Camp Quest Thursday evening to create a park in honor of former camp director and teacher Tom Bohan of Le Mars. The group placed the first bid--10-thousand dollars.

The 215-thousand dollar top bid to buy the property puts it in the hands of a neighbor, Hank Tritz. The bid is subject to approval by the Le Mars Community Board of Education.

Superintendent Dr. Todd Wendt says the sale will be an agenda item for the May 23rd Board meeting.
