Flood Relief

(Le Mars, IA)--- The Le Mars United Way presented a check Wednesday for more than $2,100 to assist with flood recovery efforts in the Siouxland area. Donations from area businesses and individuals were collected at Le Mars financial institutions.

United Way Board Chairperson Robin Grosenheider presents Le Mars United Way funds to Community Impact Associate Jenna Walsh.

“Once again our community has stepped up to help others in need,” said Robin Grosenheider, Le Mars United Way board chairperson. “These donations are channeled through United Way to assure that the funds will be directed through the proper channels and put to the best use.”

The Siouxland Recovery Fund has been activated to respond to the 2011 historic flood. The purpose of the fund is to provide financial resources to meet short, intermediate, and long term needs for recovery in the Siouxland area.

Participating Le Mars financial institutions which accepted the donations totaling $2,135.22 included American Bank, First National Bank, Great Southern Bank, Kingsley State Bank, Northwest Iowa Credit Union, and Primebank.
