Bachmann Offers Message to LeMars
(LeMars) -- Republican Presidential Candidate Michele Bachmann stopped in LeMars Monday afternoon and with her she brought a strong message.
Bachmann, who won the Iowa Straw Poll in August, has since seen her support fade away. She is focusing on Iowa to gain back that support heading into the Iowa Caucuses. The Minnesota Congresswoman says the republican presidential campaign has witnessed a lot of fluidity with voters. But she says she is the candidate without surprises, and that her values are the values that are shared by most Iowans.
Bachmann spoke to about 40 people gathered at the Family Table Restaurant this afternoon. The presidential candidate emphasized her conservative views including how she would create an energy policy that is favorable to American interests, not Obama's interests. She endorces the Keystone Pipeline that would go from Canada to the Gulf of Mexico cutting across the heartland of America. Bachmann says the pipeline would create 20,000 new jobs. She also told the group that there are already 55 different pipelines that cross the United States and this one would be nothing different than the pipelines that already exists. Another area of concern for Bachmann is with the illegal immigration. She says she endorses the fence to be built at the border.
