KLEM Local Schedule (week of Novermber 21)

Le Mars finished third in both the girls and boys five-team meet at Lewis Bowl in Sioux City Tuesday afternoon.  Sioux City East won the girls team title and Sioux City North topped the boys field.  For Le Mars, Danielle Hystad had the top score on the day with a 290, Susie Haack had a 277, Colleen Zenk finished with a 272 and Marce Kolker had a 257.  For the Le Mars boys, Cody Wurth rolled a 391, Brock Hofland a 374, Dom Castle had a 336 and Austin DuBrall finished at 315 for the day.

(LE MARS) -- Molly Renken's three-pointer with 48-seconds to play helped secure a 33-31 opening night win for the Le Mars Lady Bulldogs over Unity Christian Tuesday night at Carey gym.  Renken's shot extended a 29-28 lead to 32-28.  Carolyn Ahlers added a free throw with 23-seconds left to give Le Mars a 33-28 advantage before Karissa DeJong knocked down a three-pointer for the Knights to close the gap to two as the buzzer sounded to end the game.  The Lady Bulldogs won despite a three minute-46 second scoring drought in the fourth quarter.  Unity Christian managed only three points during that stretch to close a 28-24 Le Mars' lead to 28-27 with 1:49 to play.  Both teams suffered through a cold shooting night, hitting just 24% of their field goal attempts while at the free throw line, Le Mars connected on just 5-of-15 and Unity was a dismal 4-for-14 from the charity stripe.  Carolyn Ahlers led the Le Mars scoring attack with 12 points while Molly Renken added ten.  Karissa DeJong had nine for Unity.  Le Mars hosts the Hy-Vee Holiday Tournament Friday and Saturday with Rock Valley, Sioux City East and Hinton joining Le Mars in the field.  Le Mars plays Hinton Friday night in the semifinals.
