(Le Mars) A record breaking check was presented on Saturday, April 21st, as the Gehlen Ball celebrated their 25th Anniversary. $218,151.42 was presented to Gehlen Catholic School by the Friends of the Gehlen Ball. 748 guests from LeMars and the surrounding area at the LeMars Convention Center to share a meal, reminisce and have some fun. The Ball's Silver Anniversary coincided with the Silver Anniversary of the Gehlen Catholic Schools Endowment Fund. Since 1987, more than $2.2-million in gifts have been received and invested. The Endowment Fund has transferred more than $1.2-million in earnings to the school's budget.
