Plymouth County Campsites Busy this Holiday Weekend
(Le Mars) -- Camping over Memorial Day weekend is almost as American as baseball
and apple pie. Plenty of people will be at the parks this weekend, as Le Mars
Municipal Park manager Dan Peters reports that the Willow Creek Campground is
full. All 32 sites are taken, and at least 20 people have been turned away.
Campgrounds at Plymouth County's Hillview Recreational Area are spoken for as
well. However, Parks Director Dennis Sohl says that the spots aren't actually
considered full until the campers show up. He does expect that things will be
busy at all the parks this weekend and recommends that people remember to
respect their neighbors while taking it easy this Memorial Day weekend.

If you didn't get a spot in Plymouth County, check out what's available in
Woodbury. Woodbury Conservation Board Director Rick Schneider released
information earlier this week saying that all county park facilities are ready
for visitors this weekend. Recent storm damage at Little Sioux Park near
Correctionville and Southwood Conservation Area near Smithland have been cleaned
up and all campgrounds are ready for campers. Additional campgrounds are
available at Snyder Bend Park and Brown's Lake Bigelow Park near Salix.
Swimming beaches in Woodbury County are also opening Saturday, and will stay
open daily from 11am to 8pm through Labor Day, weather permitting.
No matter where you're enjoying your time outdoors this weekend, Plymouth County
Parks director Dennis Sohl encourages you to have fun and be safe.
