CORRECTIONVILLE, Iowa (AP) - A sheriff's deputy says the crash of a small airplane in northwest Iowa has killed two people and injured the pilot.
Woodbury County Sheriff's chief deputy Doug Boetger says  that the plane crashed Saturday night about 2 1/2 miles south of Correctionville. The crash was reported about 8 p.m.
Boetger says two passengers died and the pilot was taken by ambulance to a Sioux City hospital.
There was dense fog in the area, but Boetger says it's unclear whether the weather conditions played a role in the crash.
Authorities didn't release the names of those involved.
During the response, an ambulance and law enforcement vehicle collided but Boetger says there were no injuries.
