(Merrill) -- Fire crews from Merrill, Hinton, and Le Mars responded to an early morning structure fire that started at about 4:00 a.m. at the Alberts Trucking Firm located at 23517 Highway 75, just on the south side of Merrill.  Merrill Assistant Fire Chief Chris Fischer describes the scene upon arrival.

The Merrill Fire official says since the building is located just beyond the city limits, available water supplies became an issue.  He says crews had to transport water to the scene since a hydrant was not close enough to use.   He says the fire fighters also battled the cold temperatures with their equipment.  Fire officials are investigating the origin of the fire.

There were no injuries associated with the fire.  A driver passing by on Highway 75 reported the fire.  Fischer didn't have an estimate of damage other than to say it probably will run in the thousands of dollars.  Fire officials were on the scene for nearly four hours.
