(Le Mars) -- Last evening during halftime of the Le Mars Bulldogs and Sioux City East men's

basketball game, our own Denny Callahan was honored for his forty years of broadcasting

games of the Le Mars Bulldogs, Gehlen Jays, and the former Westmar College Eagles.  Le Mars

Community Activities Director Barry Borchers presented the award to both Denny and his wife

Jeri, who assists Denny with his broadcasts by keeping statistics.

The plaque reads: "With great admiration and appreciation, the LHS and public booster clubs

of the Le Mars Community Schools would like to thank Denny Callahan for your forty years of

dedication and loyality to the Bulldog Athletic Boosters and the Le Mars Community schools."

Congratulations Denny, and oh by the way, Happy Birthday.
