Hello Dollies - Museum Displays Newest Exhibit
(Le Mars) -- Hello Dollie...That's the theme to the newest and latest exhibit found at the Plymouth County Historical Museum. A total of more than 80 hand carved dolls each standing approximately three and a half to four feet tall are on display at the Study Hall room as part of the Plymouth County Historical Museum. Museum administrator Judy Bowman says each of the dolls originated from a farm near Battle Creek, Iowa.
Bowman says the museum is unveiling the dollie exhibit on a special event scheduled for Saturday.
Bowman realizes that not everyone may find the dollie exhibit as "their cup of tea" so she is also suggesting visitors look at the newly renovated "main street downtown exhibit" or even the agricultural exhibit found in the museum's basement.
The museum will hold its annual meeting and banquet this evening at the Old Central Gym, beginning at 6:00 p.m. A pork chop entree meal will be served from Timmy's Catering. Bowman says you do not need to be a member of the museum to attend the banquet. She says this year, the banquet will feature some unique entertainment.
