FRIDAY RESULTS - October 4

(high school football)

(MILFORD) -- The Gehlen Catholic game against Okoboji was suspended at halftime due to severe weather Friday night.  The Jays led 21-0 at halftime when play was halted.  Gehlen scored on three of their first four possessions in the first quarter to take a three-touchdown advantage.  Lucas Hunt scored on a 24 yard run to open the scoring and then Payton Bouma scored on two short runs.  Play will resume with the second half kick-off at 11 a.m. Saturday.  The final half will be carried on KLEM starting at 10:55.

(LE MARS) -- Levi TeBrink ran for two scores and threw for another to lead Le Mars to a 30-14 victory over Denison-Schleswig Friday night in a Class 3A, district 2 match-up at Jim Lorenzen Field that was delayed by more than an hour due to the severe weather.  TeBrink led a 382 yard Bulldog rushing attack with a career-best 202 yards on 18 carries.  TeBrink scored on runs of seven and 19 yards as Le Mars built a 30-0 lead.  TeBrink connected with Cameron Weaver on a 23 yard pass play for a second quarter touchdown and finished 7of-18 for 154 yards.  Beau Ohm scored the other Bulldog touchdown on a six yard run and finished with 183 yards on 28 carries.  Le Mars amassed 536 yards of offense Friday night.

(MILFORD) -- Gehlen Catholic took advantage of six Okoboji turnovers to beat the Pioneers 27-0 Saturday morning, completing a Class 1A - district 1 game that was halted by severe weather at halftime Friday night.  Lucas Hunt scored the lone touchdown Saturday after play resumed, scoring on a 19-yard run in the fourth quarter.  Hunt scored the Jays first touchdown Friday night on a 24 yard run.  Payton Bouma scored twice Friday night on a pair of short TD runs to stake the Jays to a 21-0 halftime lead.  Gehlen plays at home Friday night against Western Christian.  Gehlen Catholic is now 3-and-3 for the season and 3-and-1 in the district.
