Woman Hits Clerk

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - Des Moines police are seeking a woman who allegedly punched a clerk in the face after accusing the employee of "flirting with her man."
A Walgreens employee was working at a cosmetics counter when a woman accused her of flirting. The customer then pushed her into a wall and hit her.
The woman left and employees called police. An officer who responded noted there had been a fight at a Goodwill store involving a woman who matched the description of the Walgreens customer.
A Goodwill worker wrote down that woman's license plate number, and after finding a photo of the woman, police think she's the same person who hit the Walgreens employee.

Department spokesman Capt. Steve Brown says that a woman collapsed after she answered the door to responding firefighters. They later recorded high levels of carbon monoxide in the house, which did not have a detector for the odorless gas.
The station reports a mother and two children were taken to Mercy Medical Center. Five others in the house were taken to Iowa Methodist Medical Center. Their names and conditions have not been released.
