Inez Palmer, 84, of Akron, Iowa passed away Thursday, December 16, 2010 at Hillcrest Health Care Services in Hawarden, Iowa.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 20, 2010 at Carlsen Funeral Home - Schroeder Chapel in Akron, Iowa. Pastor Dawn Quame of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Akron will officiate. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Akron. Visitation with the family present will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Monday at the funeral home. Alvin J. Howe, 85, of rural Hinton passed away Monday, Dec. 13, 2010, at his residence. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Calvary Lutheran Church in Sioux City, with the Rev. Schoop officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, rural Hinton, with military rites. Visitation with the family will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Travis officiating, at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel.

Edward W. Marienau, 83, of Merrill, Iowa passed away on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at Sunrise Retirement Community in Sioux City, Iowa.  Funeral services will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 17, 2010 at the Mauer – Johnson Funeral Home of Le Mars, Iowa.  Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Merrill with military honors provided by Olson – Halweg American Legion Post #125 of Merrill.  Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 16, 2010 at the Mauer – Johnson Funeral Home.  The family will be present from 6-8 p.m. to greet friends with a prayer service scheduled at 7:00 p.m.  There will also be one hour of visitation on Friday prior to the funeral.  Stories, memories and expressions of sympathy may be directed through www.mauerjohnsonfh.com

Elizabeth M. “Betty” Price, 75, of Le Mars, passed away Monday December 13, 2010 at Good Samaritan Village of Le Mars, following a Lengthy illness.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday December 17, 2010 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Le Mars, with Reverend Kevin Richter celebrating.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Le Mars.  Visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m. Thursday at the Carlsen-Feuerstein Funeral Home in Le Mars, where there will be a Parish rosary at 4:00 p.m. and a Vigil Prayer Service at 6:30 p.m.  Expressions of sympathy can be extended to the family through www.carlsenfuneralhome.com.
