Clifford “Jake” Lehmann, 74, died Sunday at his home in Merrill, after a two and a half year battle against bile duct cancer.  Visitation will be Tuesday, August 31, 2010 from 4pm to 7pm at Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars. Family will be present from 5 to 7pm. to greet friends. A Scriptural Wake Service will be held at 7pm at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at 10:30 am at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church in Merrill. Carl W. "Chuck" Mammen, 99, of Le Mars, Iowa passed away on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at the Brentwood Good Samaritan Village in Le Mars. Funeral services will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 30, 2010 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Le Mars.  Burial will follow at Memorial Cemetery in Le Mars. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 29, 2010 at the Mauer - Johnson Funeral Home of Le Mars. The family will be present to greet friends from 3 - 5 p.m. Visitation will resume at 1:00 p.m. on Monday at the church. Megan Dirks, 25, of Akron, Iowa, formerly of Iowa City, Iowa passed away Friday, August 27, 2010 at her parent’s home in Akron following a courageous battle with cancer.  Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Akron.  Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Akron. Visitation will be after 4:00 p.m. Monday, August 30, 2010, with the family present after 5:00 p.m., and a Scriptural Wake Service at 7:00 p.m. followed by a Parish Rosary, all at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Akron. Visitation will resume 1 hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the Carlsen Funeral Home – Schroeder Chapel in Akron. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at Grace Lutheran Church, Le Mars, Interment will be at Memorial Cemetery in Le Mars.
