Duane E. Ward, 75, of Kingsley, Iowa, passed away on Sunday morning, March 6, 2011, at his residence in Kingsley. No visitation or formal service is planned at this time however, a memorial graveside service will take place at a later date. Thomas Paschal Wurth, 70 years old, of Remsen, IA died Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at his home near Remsen. Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 7, 2011, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Remsen with Rev. William McCarthy officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Remsen. Graveside military honors will be conducted by V.F.W. Post 3328 & American Legion Post 220 of Remsen. Visitation will be anytime after 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 6, 2011. There will be a parish rosary at 3 p.m. and a vigil prayer service at 7 p.m. followed by a Catholic Order of Foresters rosary all at Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen. Condolences may be attended through www.fischfh.com

Ronald H. “Ron” Burkard, of Le Mars, a Plymouth County native and lifelong resident, passed away Tuesday March 1, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, following a brief illness.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday March 5, 2011 at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Oyens, with Reverend Bill McCarthy officiating. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the American Legion, Wasmer Post #241. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. Friday at the Carlsen-Feuerstein Funeral Home in Le Mars, where there will be a Vigil Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Expressions of sympathy may be extended to the family through www.carlsenfuneralhome.com.

Evelyn M. Small, 82, of Le Mars, Iowa passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at the Happy Siesta Care Center in Remsen, Iowa. Funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 4, 2011 at the United Methodist Church of Le Mars. Rev. Jason Larson and Rev. Kenneth Vander Ploeg will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Cemetery in Le Mars. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 3, 2011 at the Mauer - Johnson Funeral Home of Le Mars. The family will be present to greet friends from 4-7 p.m. There will also be one hour of visitation at the church prior to the funeral service.
