Isabel  Plendl, 89, of Le Mars passed away Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars. 
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 10, 2011 at St. James Catholic Church in Le Mars with Father Matt Hewitt officiating.  Interment will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery-Neptune, rural Hinton, Iowa.  Visitations will be after 3:00 p.m. Sunday, January 9, 2011 at the Carlsen-Feuerstein Funeral Home in Le Mars with a 4:00 p.m. Parish Rosary followed by a 7:00 p.m. Scriptural Wake Service.  Expressions of sympathy can be extended to the family through www.carlsenfuneralhome.com.

Kenneth Rodney Borchers of Sedan, Kansas, formerly of rural Akron, Iowa passed away Sunday, January 2nd, 2011 at his home near Sedan at age 78.  Memorial services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 8, 2010 at St. John Lutheran Church, Preston Township, rural Akron, Iowa with Reverend Sarah Nye officiating.  Inurnment will be in the church cemetery.  Visitation with the family present will be from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the church.  Arrangements are with Carlsen Funeral Home of Le Mars.  Expressions of sympathy can be extended to the family through www.carlsenfuneralhome.com.    Memorials may be directed to Zion Lutheran School in Independence, Kansas or St. John Lutheran Church in rural Akron, Iowa.

Evelyn Marienau, 88, of Akron, Iowa formerly of Le Mars, Iowa passed away Monday, January 3, 2011 at the Akron Care Center in Akron. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 8, 2011 at Christ Lutheran Church, Grant Township, rural Le Mars, Iowa. Pastor Mike Schmidt will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be after 3:00 p.m. Friday, January 7, 2011, with the family present after 5:00 p.m., and a Prayer service at 7:00 p.m., all at Carlsen Funeral Home – Schroeder Chapel in Akron, Iowa. Annie Hennigs, 95, of Le Mars, Iowa passed away on Monday, January 3, 2011 at her home. Funeral services will take place 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 7, 2011 at Christ Lutheran Church (Grant Township), rural Le Mars, Iowa. Rev. Mike Schmidt will officiate. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 6, 2011 at the Mauer – Johnson Funeral Home of Le Mars. The family will be present from 6-8 p.m. with a prayer service scheduled at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will resume at 1:00 p.m. on Friday at the church.
