Margaret L. Day, 94, of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at The Abbey of Le Mars.

Funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at the Mauer – Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars.  Rev. Jon Meredith of the Le Mars Baptist Church will officiate.  Burial will follow at Memorial Cemetery in Le Mars.  Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.  The Mauer – Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars is assisting Margaret’s family with funeral arrangements.  Expressions of sympathy may be directed through www.mauerjohnsonfh.com

   

James “Jimmy” Squibb

James “Jimmy” Squibb, 26 of Wall Lake and formerly of Remsen, IA passed away suddenly Monday, Oct. 5, 2015 at Wall Lake, IA.

Rosalene Kessenich

Rosalene Kessenich, 79, of Le Mars passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2015 at Plymouth Manor Care Center in Le Mars.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 9, 2015 at All Saints Catholic Parish –St. James Church in Le Mars.  Father Paul Eisele and Father John Apel, S.J. will concelebrate Mass.  Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Le Mars.  Visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at St. James Church.  A rosary will take place at 5:00 p.m. with a Scriptural Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m.  There will also be one hour of visitation at the church prior to Mass on Friday.  Honorary pallbearers will be Rosalene’s granddaughters and her grandsons will be pallbearers.  The Mauer – Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars is assisting Rosalene’s family with funeral arrangements.  Expressions of sympathy may be directed through www.mauerjohnsonfh.com

   

Lorene Wruck

Lorene Wruck, 70, of Le Mars, Iowa passed away Friday, October 2, 2015 at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City following a courageous year and half battle with cancer.

A Celebration of Life Service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars.  Reverend Christian Meier of St. John’s Lutheran Church, E.L.C.A. in Le Mars will officiate.  Inurnment of her ashes will be at a later date in the Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, SD.  Visitation with the family present will after 5:00 p.m. Monday, October 5, 2015, with a Prayer service at 7:00 p.m., all at Carlsen Funeral Home.  Visitation will resume from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home.  Expressions of sympathy can be extended to the family through www.carlsenfuneralhome.com.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to the June E. Nylen Cancer in Sioux City.

   

Angeline M. Klein

Angeline M. Klein, 83 years old, of Granville, IA, died Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2015 at Praire Ridge Care Center in Orange City, IA.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Oct. 5, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Granville with Rev. Terry Roder officiating.  Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.  Visitation with family present will be anytime after 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 4, 2015.  There will be a parish rosary at 5 p.m. by the Catholic Order of Foresters and a vigil prayer service at 7 p.m. all at the Church.  Services have been entrusted to Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen.  Condolences may be sent online to www.fischfh.com.

   

Cheri (Nemmers) Jolin

Cheri (Nemmers) Jolin, 60, of Parker, Colorado, formally of Le Mars passed away Monday, September 28, 2015 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Parker, Colorado.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 3, 2015 at All Saints Parish, St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Kevin Richter officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church.  Arrangements are with the Carlsen-Feuerstein Funeral Home of Le Mars.

Donald E. Hurlbut

Donald E. Hurlbut, 77, of Le Mars, Iowa passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2015 at Unity Point/St. Luke’s Regional Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa.  Funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 14, 2015 at the Mauer – Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars, Iowa.  Rev. Chris Meier of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Le Mars will officiate.  Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City, Iowa.  Military honors will be conducted by Wasmer Post #241 of the American Legion.  Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 13, 2015 at the Mauer – Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars.  The family will be present from 5-7 p.m. with a prayer service scheduled at 7:00 p.m.  Visitation will resume at 9:00 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home.  Expressions of sympathy may be directed through www.mauerjohnsonfh.com

   

Paul Langel

Paul Langel, 57, of Le Mars, Iowa passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at his home near Le Mars following a courageous battle with cancer.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 12, 2015 at All Saints Parish – St. Joseph Church in Le Mars.  Reverend Kevin Richter will celebrate Mass with other Priests in the Sioux City Catholic Diocese concelebrating.  Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Le Mars.  Visitation with the family present will be after 4:00 p.m., with a Knights of Columbus Rosary at 5:00 p.m., and a Scriptural Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m., all at the church. Visitation will resume from 9:30 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the church.  Arrangements are with the Carlsen-Feuerstein Funeral Home in Le Mars. Bette Waite, 87, of Le Mars, Iowa passed away Monday, September 7, 2015 at Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars, Iowa.

Magdalen “Myrt” Weiler, 93 years old, of LeMars, IA entered eternal rest Saturday, Sept. 5, 2015, at Good Samaritan Society in LeMars, IA.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Sept. 11, 2015, at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Oyens with Rev. Karen  Klemme, 74, of Le Mars passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2015, at her home after a courageous battle with cancer.

Saxen, 59, of Le Mars passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2015 following a motor vehicle accident in Omaha, Nebraska.  Funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 4, 2015 at the Mauer – Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars.  Pastor Michael Hulinsky will officiate. Dale A. Leekley, 85, of Kingsley, Iowa, passed away on Friday, August 28, 2015 at the Kingsley Nursing and Rehab Center in Kingsley, Iowa. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 31, 2015 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Kingsley, Iowa. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be Sunday, 5-7 p.m. with a Wake-Scripture service at 7:00 p.m. all at the Rohde Funeral Home in Kingsley. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Rohde Funeral Home in Kingsley, Iowa.

Marvin William Nitzschke, 87 years old, Remsen, IA was called home to be with his Lord Thursday, Aug. 27, 2015 surrounded by his family, at Heartland Care Center in Marcus.

Funeral Service will be Monday, Aug. 31, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church LCMS in Remsen, with Pastor Dennis Martens officiating.  Burial will be in the Remsen Community Cemetery at a later date.  Visitation with family present will be anytime after 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 30, 2015.  There will be a prayer service at 7 p.m. all at Christ Lutheran Church LCMS in Remsen.
