Doris Muecke, 78, of Hinton, Iowa passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, May 22, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa.  Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 27, 2010 at Trinity Lutheran Church, rural Hinton. Interment will in the church cemetery. Visitation will be after 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at the Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars with the family present after 6:00 p.m. to greet friends followed by a 7:00 p.m. Prayer Service. Ruth E. Beck, 87 years old, of Granville, IA died Tuesday, May 18, 2010, at her home in Granville.  Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 22, 2010, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Granville. Burial will be in the Holy Name Cemetery in Marcus, IA. Visitation will be anytime after 4 p.m. on Friday, May 21, 2010. There will be a parish rosary at 5 p.m. and a vigil prayer service at 7 p.m. all at. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Granville. Vesta D. Criswell, 96, of Le Mars, Iowa passed away Monday, May 17, 2010 at The Abbey of Le Mars. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 24, 2010 at Grace Lutheran Church in Le Mars, Iowa. Interment will be at Resthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitations with the family present will be from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Sunday, May 23, 2010 at the Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars. Janice Gay (Klemme) Rohlfs, 69, of rural Akron, Iowa, passed away suddenly on Saturday, May 15, 2010, at the Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars. Funeral services will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 21, 2010 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Akron, Iowa. Rev. Dawn J. Quame will officiate. Burial will follow at the Plymouth Presbyterian Cemetery, rural Akron, Iowa. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 20, 2010 at the Mauer - Johnson Funeral Home of Le Mars. The family will be present from 5-8 p.m. with a prayer service scheduled for 7:00 p.m. There will also be one hour of visitation at the church prior to the funeral on Friday. M. Catherine Hamman, 100, of Kingsley, passed away, Saturday, May 15, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Kingsley. Burial will be at St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00p.m., with the family present during this time, and a Scriptural Wake service at 7:00 p.m. all at St. Michael’s Catholic Church. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Rohde Funeral Home in Kingsley, Iowa.

Wendell K. Staab, 74, of Remsen, IA died Saturday, May 15, 2010,
after a long battle with COPD at St. Luke’s Hospital in Sioux City, IA.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 19, 2010, at the
First Baptist Church in LeMars, IA. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City, IA. Graveside military honors will be conducted by V.F.W. Post 3328 and American Legion Post
220 of Remsen. Visitation will be anytime after 4 p.m. on Tuesday, May 18,
2010. There will be a prayer service at 7 p.m. all at Fisch Funeral Home and Monument LLC in Remsen. Visitation will resume from 9:30 a.m. until service

Ruth L. Kirchoff, 92, of Springfield, Illinois passed away Thursday, May 13, 2010 at Heritage Manor in Springfield, Illinois. Interment will follow at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, rural Marcus, Iowa. Visitations will be from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Marion Miller, 76, of Merrill passed away on Thursday May 13, 2010 at Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars, following a brief illness. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday May 17, 2010 at St. James Catholic Church in Le Mars. Burial will be in Assumption Catholic Cemetery in Merrill. Visitation will be anytime after 3:00 p.m. Sunday at St. James Catholic Church in Le Mars, where there will be a rosary at 4:00 p.m. and a Vigil Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Monday morning at the church for one hour prior to the funeral. Arrangements are with the Feuerstein Funeral Home in Le Mars.

James Hoogland, age 60, of Maurice, passed away on Saturday, May 8, 2010, at the Orange City Area Health System Hospital. There will be a memorial service on Wednesday, May 12, at 11:30am, at the Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Sioux Center. Interment will be prior to the service at the Sherman Township Cemetery, near Maurice. There will be a prayer service on Wednesday, at 10:00am, at the church. Visitation will be after 4:00pm on Tuesday, with the family present from 6:00pm to 9:00pm, and a Celebration of Life at 7:30pm, at the church. Gerald Herman, 84, of Villisca, Iowa passed away Saturday, May 8, 2010 at
the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak, Iowa. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at the Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars, Iowa with Reverend Jason Larson of the United Methodist Church of Le Mars officiating. Interment with military honors
provided by the Wasmer American Legion Post #241 will be at Memorial
Cemetery in Le Mars, Iowa. Visitations, with the family present, will be after 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at the Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars. Visitations will continue Wednesday from noon until the service time. Additional services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday,
May 14, 2010 at Nodaway United Methodist Church, Nodaway, Iowa with Reverend

There will be a memorial service on Tuesday, May 11, at 2:00pm, at the American Reformed Church in Orange City.  Interment will be prior to the service at the West Lawn Cemetery in Orange City. There will be a prayer service on Tuesday, at 1:00pm, at the church.  Visitation will be after 4:00pm on Monday, with the family present from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, at the church. Shirley Erichsen, 85 of Remsen, IA died Thursday, May 6, 2010 surrounded by her family, at Happy Siesta Health Care Center in Remsen, IA.
Funeral Service will be Monday, May 10, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church LCMS in Remsen, with Rev. Dennis Martens officiating. Burial will be in the Remsen Community Cemetery.
