MONDAY RESULTS – May 9
(G/B) Lakes Conference meet at Emmetsburg
GIRLS RESULTS: Western Christian won the team title with Spencer second and Le Mars third. The Lady Bulldogs won four events -- Emily Anderson won the 100-meter hurdles in a time of :15.53 ... Meredith Rand won the 1500-meter run in 5:21.13 ... Jess Arnold won the High Jump at 5'3" ... and the Shuttle Hurdle Relay was first in 1:09.74.
BOYS RESULTS: Spirit Lake won the team title with Le Mars finishing second. The Bulldogs had three first place finishes -- Karson Klein won the Shot Put at 50'0" ... the 4X100 Relay was first in :45.26 with Zach Reed, Hunter Rohde, Bryce Dahm and Brady Lancaster ... and the Distance Medley was first in 3:43.77 with Hunter Rohde, Brady Lancaster, Joe Herzberg, and Kyle Borchers.
(B) Le Mars beat Estherville/Lincoln Central twice, both by 5-0 margins. One of the matches was a makeup from an April 26th postponement. The Bulldogs finish the regular season unbeaten at 11-and-0 with a 10-and-0 Lakes Conference record. (BULLDOG RESULTS: In singles play, Mike Ahlers won 10-0, Kent Hasselquist won 10-0, Eric Havey won 10-2, Keegan Driggs won 10-0 to complete the first match. In the second match, Jacob Hansen won 10-2 in singles play and in doubles, Ahlers/Hasselquist won 10-1, Havey/Driggs won 10-0, Brooks/Aaron Ruden won 10-0 and Havey/Hansen won 10-1.)
(G) Le Mars 6 Estherville/Lincoln Central 3 (LE MARS RESULTS: In singles, Carolyn Ahlers lost, Erica Westhoff won, Catie Meis won, Stephanie Young won, Hannah Lang won, and Sophie Arens lost. In doubles, Ahlers/Westhoff won, Meis/Young won and Lang/Arens lost.)
(G) Gehlen Catholic finished second behind West Sioux at the War Eagle Conference meet at Orange City. Mollie Nemmers of Gehlen was medalist for the meet with an 84. The other Gehlen scores included Ali Galles with a 96, Lauren Sitzmann with a 99 and Megan Tentinger with a 102.
(G) Gehlen 188 Hinton 200 (makeup from April 19th) (MEDALIST: Mollie Nemmers with a 39. Lauren Sitzmann shot a 47, Ali Galles had a 48, Megan Tentinger a 54, Shannon Smith a 57 and Rachael Hueretz a 68.)
(G) Le Mars finished fifth at the Lakes Conference with Spirit Lake winning the title with a 354. Spencer was second with a 401. (MEDALIST: Spirit Lake's Leah Hilpipre with an 80. For Le Mars, Steph Betsworth shot a 92 for fourth place and a spot on the All-Conference team, Emily Pick had a 110, Karly Hoss a 114, Madi Baack a 123, Ashley Phelan a 123, and Erin Kommes a 125.)
(G) Emmetsburg 201 Le Mars 213 Cherokee 238 (makeup meets from April 26th) (Le Mars scores, Steph Betsworth a 47, Madi Baack & Karly Hoss 54's, Emily Pick a 58, Ashley Phelan a 60 and Erin Kommes a 65.)
(B) Le Mars finished fifth at the Lakes Conference meet with Spencer winning the team title with a 305. (MEDALIST: Spencer's Jay Monahan with a 71. For Le Mars, Eric Cline shot an 83, Parker Rolfes an 85, Michael Sauer & Mason Prieksat 95's, Michael Brandenburg a 105 and Coleton Brown a 107.)
TUESDAY RESULTS – May 10
(B) Gehlen Catholic finished sixth in the War Eagle Conference meet at Primghar. Hinton won the team title with a 320 with Akron-Westfield finishing second at 322. Remsen-Union finished seventh and Remsen St. Mary's came in eleventh. Caleb Malenke of Unity Christian was medalist with a 72 while Shawn Desai of South O'Brien earned runner-up medal honors with a 74. Gehlen scores -- Johnny Ruden 84, Derek Bretey 88, Dylan Kneip 89, and Ross Ruhland 91. Hinton and Gehlen also used the meet as a makeup to an earlier postponed dual meet. Hinton topped the Jays 161-174. Lathan Hassler of Hinton won the medal with a 39. Dylan Kneip led Gehlen with a 41, Derek Bretey and Johnny Ruden added 43's and Austin Juhl and Ross Ruhland carded 47's. Chad Langel rounded out the Jays scoring with a 48.
THURSDAY RESULTS – May 12
(G/B) 3A Regional/District meet at Orange City
GIRLS RESULTS: Bishop Heelan won the team title with Le Mars finishing fourth.
LE MARS STATE QUALIFIERS: Meredith Rand in the 1500, Lindsey Wichers in the 100, Jess Arnold in the High Jump, the Shuttle Hurdle Relay, the 4X100 Relay, the 4X200 Relay and the 4X800 Relay.
BOYS RESULTS: Bishop Heelan won the team title with Spirit Lake Park finishing second and Le Mars third.
LE MARS STATE QUALIFIERS: Paxton Strub in the 110 High Hurdles and the High Jump, Karson Klein in the Shot Put, Hunter Rohde & Levi TeBrink in the Long Jump, the Shuttle Hurdle Relay, the 4X100 Relay, the 4X200 Relay and the Distance Medley Relay.
(G/B) 1A Regional/District meet at Hawarden
GIRLS RESULTS: Central Lyon won the team title with 139 1/2 points with Gehlen Catholic finishing second with 136. Marcus/M-C and Remsen-Union were thrid and fourth.
GEHLEN STATE QUALIFIERS: Steph Rohe in the 100 Hurdles & the 400 Hurdles, Emily Holtgrewe in the 400 Hurdles, Molly Wankum in the 1500 and 3000, the Shuttle Hurdle Relay and the 4X800 Relay.
REMSEN-UNION STATE QUALIFIERS: Allison Schreiner in the 100, 200 and 400.
REMSEN ST. MARY'S STATE QUALIFIERS: Brielle Biezuns in the 200, Emma Krier in the Long Jump and the Sprint Medley Relay.
BOYS RESULTS: West Lyon claimed the team title with Gehlen Catholic finishing fifth.
GEHLEN STATE QUALIFIERS: Jordan Langel in the 110 High Hurdles, Chris Eral in the Shot Put and Michael Whitehead & Trevor Bouma in the Long Jump.
REMSEN-UNION STATE QUALIFIERS: Jared Kunkel in the Discus.

(B) 1A District meet at Spencer - POSTPONED TO FRIDAY DUE TO RAIN
(G) Le Mars 210 Western Christian 222 Storm Lake 240 (MEDALIST: Le Mars' Steph Betsworth with a 46 with Le Mars' Emily Pick taking Runner-Up honors with a 50. Other Le Mars scores included Ashley Phelan with a 55, Madi Baack with a 59, Karly Hoss shot a 63 and Erin Kommes had a 68. Le Mars finishes the dual season at 7-and-3.
FRIDAY RESULTS – May 13
(B) 1A District meet at Spencer
TEAM RESULTS: 1. Storm Lake (17) 2. Le Mars (15) 3. Spirit Lake (13). Le Mars hosts Spirit Lake at 4 pm Monday in the Sub-State.
INDIVIDUAL RESULTS FOR LE MARS: Mike Ahlers won the number one singles title, earning his second straight trip to the 1A State meet. Ahlers won his first three matches of the day by 6-0, 6-0 margins and won the District title with a 6-1, 6-1 victory. Kent Hasselquist won his first round singles match 4-6, 6-3, 6-1 before losing in the second round 6-4, 4-6, 5-7.
In doubles play, Eric Havey and Keegan Driggs lost 6-4, 5-7. 3-6 in the first round and the team of Colin Brooks and Aaron Ruden won 6-1, 6-1 in the first round before losing 3-6, 2-6.
(B) 1A Sectional meet at Hinton
DISTRICT TEAM QUALIFIERS: 1. Hinton 329 2. Woodbury Central 336 3. Akron-Westfield 369.
INDIVIDUAL DISTRICT QUALIFIERS: 1. Keegan Bak of Hinton (76) 2. James Wright of Woodbury Central (81) 3.(tie) Grady Gallagher of Woodbury Central, Jason Vander Kooi of Hinton & Craig Brown of Hinton (84's). Gallagher won a one-hole playoff for third with Vander Kooi taking fourth.
