CORRECTIONVILLE, Iowa (AP) - A sheriff's deputy says the crash of a small airplane in northwest Iowa has killed two people and injured the pilot.
Woodbury County Sheriff's chief deputy Doug Boetger says  that the plane crashed Saturday night about 2 1/2 miles south of Correctionville. The crash was reported about 8 p.m.
Boetger says two passengers died and the pilot was taken by ambulance to a Sioux City hospital.
There was dense fog in the area, but Boetger says it's unclear whether the weather conditions played a role in the crash.
Authorities didn't release the names of those involved.
During the response, an ambulance and law enforcement vehicle collided but Boetger says there were no injuries.


Plane Crashes Near Correctionville

(Correctionville) -- A small plane has crashed Saturday evening along Highway 31 near Correctionville.  The accident happened shortly before 8:00 p.m.  Officials say the plane had at least three people.  Authorities believe the crash has involved some fatalities, as well as some serious injuries.  Air ambulances and emergency crews  have been dispatched to the scene.  KLEM radio will have more on this accident Monday morning at 7:30 a.m.
