(Sioux Center) -- Not sure how to warm up your home and make it more inviting
before company arrives? Shirley Vos, owner of design business "Inside Out" and
design guru at Vander Berg Furniture in Sioux Center, says that there's one sure
fire way to add ambience to your home for the holidays....lights.
A way to incorporate lights that will make people feel welcome as soon as they
come in is by using them in the foyer. Shirley suggests using mirrors to
amplify the glow.
Another suggestion for adding light is by placing battery operated lights in
jars or wine bottles and grouping them together to form a focal point. Add some
garland around the base to complete the look. A hint on getting a hole in the
wine bottle big enough to place the light...Shirly says to use a masonry bit to
drill the hole.
