Fall Colors Are On the Way!
(DES MOINES) Warm days, cool nights, a bonfire and the sound of leaves swirling in the wind. Is there anything else about fall that we love? Oh yeah...the color! Over the next two weeks peak color will be seen around Iowa. Jessica O'Riley from the Iowa Tourism Office tells us what to expect.
According to the State Forest Nursery, ash and basswood are changing to yellow and the leaves are starting to fall in Northwest Iowa. Cottonwoods in the river valleys are also showing some change.
If you're waiting for the perfect weekend to go for a drive and see the yellows, oranges and reds, O'Riley tells us why a drive through the Loess Hills on October 15th is a good choice.
