Plymouth Co. LOST Recommendations

(LE MARS)–Plymouth County Supervisors today (Tuesday) indicated they’d wait a week before acting on recommendations for use of the county’s grant funds from the one-cent Local Option Sales Tax (LOST).

 

The county’s advisory board recommendations were presented by the advisory group’s chair, Mary Thorson-Lucken of Akron and Blaine Donaldson of Kingsley. Requests for the county’s sales tax funding were three times greater than the 100-thousand dollar amount set aside for grants.

There were 32 requests for funding. The advisory board recommended no funds for 14 of the 32; partial funding for nine requests and full funding for nine requests.

Oyens Fire Department, Personal Protection Equipment and tools, $6,412.70;

Le Mars Fire-Rescue, confined space rescue equipment, $5,000;

Mid-Sioux Opportunity, Computers for Remsen office, $3,765;

Plymouth County Senior Helpmate, reimbursement for volunteer mileage, $3,500 (P);

Remsen Heritage Museum, Inside updates, $ 2,500 (P);

Hinton Fire Rescue, Pumper Truck equipment, $2,200;
